Who are we?
AI4Cities is a consortium built by a Buyers Group and an expert partner.
The Buyers Group are organisations representing six cities and regions that aim to become carbon neutral: Helsinki (Finland), Amsterdam (the Netherland), Greater Paris (France), Copenhagen (Denmark), Tallinn (Estonia), and Stavanger (Norway). The lead procurer and coordinator is Forum Virium Helsinki. The Buyers Group members are: Forum Virium Helsinki, the City of Amsterdam, Cap Digital, the City of Copenhagen, the City of Tallinn, and the City of Stavanger. The expert partner is ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability.

Forum Virium Helsinki
Forum Virium Helsinki is the City of Helsinki innovation company. It co-creates urban futures with companies, universities, other public sector organizations and Helsinki residents. Forum Virium Helsinki’s mission is to make Helsinki the most functional smart city in the world.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam wants to cut its carbon emissions by 95% by 2050 and is striving to be be a free, inclusive and creative digital city. As part of its digital agenda it has opened all its city data and is experimenting with providing its citzens a digital identity.

Cap Digital
Created in 2006 as a non-profit organisation, Cap Digital is today recognized as the biggest cluster in Europe and one of the largest innovators’ collective in the digital ecosystem. It aims to bring together all players in the digital economy & sustainable development sectors and make them work collectively on innovative projects, prototypes and technologies.

Copenhagen
A frontrunner when it comes to adopting sustainable solutions, Copenhagen has one of the world’s most ambitious climate policies with a goal of being the first carbon-neutral capital city by 2025.

Stavanger
Stavanger, the fourth largest city in Norway, with 140 000 inhabitants, has ambitious goals regarding the climate and environment.It aims to cut greenhouse gases by 80 per cent by 2030 compared with 2015, and to be a fossil-free municipality by 2040.

Tallinn
While its city services are already largely digitalised, moving towards increased digitalisation, in cooperation with citizens and companies, remains important for Tallinn. For its efforts, the city regularly ranks high among the most innovative communities in the world.

Active in 100+ countries, we influence sustainability policy and drive local action for low emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular development.
